Sweet Cones in Croatia

Updated: Nov 13, 2022

A lot of our gelato experiences tumble in with last minute plans. This one cut it close, on our way to the airport, suitcase in tow. In the middle of Trogir's old town, we had stacked our bag's against a nearby wall and spent the last of our kunas (Croatian dollars) on these delicious "sweet-cones"!

Josh's great-grandmother, Nanna Glam, originally lived in Croatia, though we never really considered visiting. Now, having experienced Croatia and all it has to offer, we have come to realise that it is SEVERELY under-advertised in Australia. The beaches are crystal clear perfection, the people are exceptionally friendly (even if they are a little intimidating), and almost all of them speak English. The weather is a warm and mild, and there accomodation and food are relatively cheap by European standards.

Tropical fruits and nuts are where it's at here, so I chose the pomegranate gelato with pistachio and white chocolate. Whilst Josh went a little more classic, passionfruit and white chocolate and hazelnut. Either way, they were both amazing!! Hot tip for gelato in Croatia: get the "sweet-cones" and you won't be disappointed.

Can't wait for Italy,
